The Office of Diversity & Inclusion and Bentley P.R.I.D.E. proudly invite you to the 2020 Rainbow Lunch. Held in October to recognize LGBTQ+ History Month, the Rainbow Lunch gathers the Bentley lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning communities and our allies to celebrate the vibrance, accomplishments and strength of the LGBTQ+ Community.
This year's Rainbow Lunch featured a keynote from Reverend Irene Monroe, an African-American lesbian feminist public theologian. Her work is published weekly in the Boston home LGBTQ newspaper Baywindows, and her columns have been described as an intersectional approach drawing on critical race theory, African American , queer and religious studies. Monroe has said that her work “aim(s) to highlight how religious intolerance and fundamentalism not only shatter of American democracy, but also aids in perpetuating other forms of oppression such as racism, sexism, classism and anti-Semitism”. With this year’s theme of ‘A Call To Action and Activism’ we could not have a more phenomenal speaker here today. Welcome, Reverend Irene Monroe.
