Nicholas Hartlep, Assistant Professor, Illinois State University; Dr. Nicholas D. Hartlep is an Assistant Professor at Illinois State University and a leading authority on the model minority stereotype. He has a passion for Asian American rights and issues of social justice and antiracism and in 2012 created The Model minority Stereotype Project, which is a virtual warehouse of materials on the model minority stereotype. He is the author of The Model Minority Stereotype: Demystifying Asian American Success, editor of The Model Minority Stereotype Reader: Critical and Challenging Readings for the 21st Century, and co-editor of Unhooking from Whiteness: The Key to Dismantling Racism in the United States.
