The Valente Center for Arts & Sciences and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion are pleased to welcome Visiting Scholar Dr. Jabari Mahiri to campus from the University of California, Berkeley. Mahiri’s 2017 book, Deconstructing Race, has been called the “best modern book on multiculturalism in education.” Mahiri challenges the very concept of race, which he argues keeps intractable myths about education alive.
